What is a Business Register Number?
Every business entity that is registered in the Austrian Business Register is assigned a Business Register Number (FN). The Business Register Number consists of a maximum of six digits and one check letter. Even if changes are recorded for a legal entity in future (e.g. change of address, name, legal form, etc.), the Business Register Number will remain the same. The Business Register Number will remain even after an entity has been cancelled, so that historical excerpts from the Business Register and documents of cancelled entities may be retrieved as well.
